This project was aimed at girls who can code their own Geofilter as part of a Snapchat filter competition (US based). Five finalists will be selected and win a VIP trip to Snapchat HQ to work 1:1 with an engineer to create a Snapchat lens. One winner will have her lens launched in the live app.
Our brief to provide creative for Google Made with Code, using a mobile first approach for Blockly (Google's coding programme to teach girls about code). I worked with a highly talented team consisting of a UX, Developer, and Illustrator Jamie Jones, (who produced all the flat graphics).
Our aim was to work with the prompt: ‘A SNAPCHAT FROM YOUR FUTURE SELF’. For the visual approach, I had to concept and explore various themes that represented the STEM and Arts disciplines. My initial thoughts were to think of overarching rules that govern major disciplines, such as atoms, binary and electromagnetism. The concepts were then finalised and applied to the graphics required: filters (pixel, atomic, matrix, electro); frames (odyssey, horizon, motherboard, pioneer), and various stamps that reflected STEM and the Arts. I also selected the colour palette with a nod to Google's existing MwC guidelines.
Unique Geofilter designs can be created using Blockly. The user can drag each piece from the menu and connect it to the pieces in the work space. Each object practices some form of coding like sequences or variables. Elaborate patterns can also be created using a mixture of stamps, modifiers and variables.

Applying brand guidelines and identifying areas for growth within digital. Communicating regularly via Skype with Lead Technologists, Producers and the Management team. Worked in Agile with a team based in Russia using Jira and Confluence.
Packaging: basic 3D modelling in Illustrator, in-house prototyping/white samples, liaising with print specialists on CMYK and Pantone selection and testing, materials, finishes and print feasibility. Over 100 packaging concepts created, followed TPD regulations to promote product safety.

Senior UX and UI Designer (Freelance) on The Gruffalo Spotter Augmented Reality mobile app. I worked with a highly talented team of producers, designers, 3D animators and AR specialists at Nexus Interactive Arts, London.
The Gruffalo Spotter is a fun AR app for woodland adventures where kids can track footprints of their favourite characters from The Gruffalo. Once the footprint has been identified, the characters are brought to life in stunning augmented reality.
Users can photograph the characters and share this via social media using hashtag#GruffaloSpotters. "The new app takes family forest walks to new heights, mixing technology with the real world it encourages children to get exploring, firing their imaginations and enabling them to have an all-new forest experience."
App released in Feb 2017, selected as a special feature by iPad App Store. App available on iOS, Android and Amazon.

A Digital Catalogue for the Samsung Galaxy Tab - Android 10.1. The app allows in-store customers to browse and order clothing, footwear and accessories.
Working closely with UX and Development to shape the core conceptual routes. Conceptual designs produced to progressively create a design language that reflects the Android UI. The Android Design site was a key and useful resource. Prototypes were developed showing working functionality.

The Patek Philippe watches are exceptional in prestige and perfection. The company has applied its philosophy of excellence ever since it was founded in 1839. Patek Philippe's World Time watches have patented time-zone mechanisms, with precise moon-phase display, jumping indications and the chronograph.
This project involved working with Senior Creatives to conceptualise and design a campaign site to showcase the Patek Philippe watch complications, as part of its 175th anniversary. Exploring World Time as a theme, defined by watch complication graphics and strong, atmospheric imagery to complement the timeless style, sophistication and elegance of this time piece.

Konstruct is an investigation into generative art using Augmented Reality. It is a sound reactive AR experience for the iPhone that allows you to create virtual sculptures by speaking, whistling or blowing into the device's microphone. A variety of 3D shapes, colours and effects can be combined to build an endless collection of structures.
Konstruct was created and built by James Alliban in 2011. I created the UI, website and logo - a minimal, abstract and versatile shape, inspired by the spikes and sharp lines formed by the app.
The app has received 20,000 downloads and has been a popular global hit at exhibitions, festivals and schools promoting art and technology.

Goals can be made achievable if they are broken down into smaller steps or milestones. This app aims to visualise those milestones and make for a more realistic journey to complete those goals. It's a simple tool to help motivate and make you more productive. The Infomap is aimed for research, project management and brainstorming. It helps measure success, create actionable objectives and structure visual thinking.
These visuals demonstrate the possible design language, using bold colours, minimal use of space, tangible clusters which are prominent and reflect the goal priority, along with simple and meaningful iconography. The interface aims to use multi-touch gesturing.
Other possible features: Set urgent priority alerts using vibration or sounds. Assign and share goals with other team members.

Exploring experiences and interactions that open new possibilities.
This concept is an audiovisual experience allowing users to 'orchestrate' music with friends. Each member is represented with an avatar. The orchestrated sound is then represented by sound waves. Users can interact, play and conduct audio files in an instrumental playground, or locate new sounds based on the users location, opening up many audiovisual possibilities for the app.

The F-TYPE Coupé is Jaguar’s commitment to a life lived by harnessing fear. A hunger and desire to improve, to challenge and to find a better way.
My role was to design a responsive Tumblr campaign site for the Jaquar F-TYPE Coupé, on desktop and iPhone. Using the hashtag #LiveFearless, users are asked to submit content that embodies being fearless. Users then have the chance to win an exclusive Fearless experience with the F-TYPE Coupé and a week-long loan. The site aimed to be light, with punchy details and simple instructions on how to take part. The Tumblr platform would be used as a framework to host all the user generated content. This project had a quick turnaround and a limited range of assets.
I was also involved with a photographic brief within specific London locations. This part of the brief would support the #LiveFearless campaign by highlighting positive, passionate and inspiring content.

Working closely with the the Art Director and Design Team to explore some early conceptual and responsive mockups for Full Tilt, an online casino and poker company. The pages aim to strengthen the casino game playing narrative by exploring content such as vintage/retro signage, American urban, downtown culture, atmospheric cityscapes and rich typography. The exploration also involved defining a strong layout which allows users to browse the homepage (in the style of a responsive one-pager) and engage with exciting gaming content. This would help entice and encourage existing players, as well as new users, to take part in some casual or formal online gaming.
A games gallery, positioned at the top of the homepage, would showcase all the available online games along with other relevant details. This template had to be adaptable for mobile, tablet and desktop views.

The public site re-design for Lloyds was a large scale project, working closely with Strategy, UE and Development. Complying to accessibility Level AAA, we decided to create an accessibility switch that sits at the top of the page, that enables users with visual impairments to view the site in 3 high colour contrast modes. Attended regular testing sessions with stakeholders and users, and designs were met with really positive feedback.
Established grid system, type hierarchy, image ratios, as well as maintaining consistency across all web pages.
The Lloyds 2012 Torchbearers site was an online campaign to allow people to nominate themselves or others to carry the Olympic Torch in their home town. Various concepts and designs were produced. Also featuring sections for Lloyds TSB Local Heroes, an initiative to support 250 young and emerging sportspeople.
I created various conceptual iPad designs to explore a platform for the London 2012 Olympics using an interactive countdown timer. The app would also feature event details, interviews and training tips from Team GB and other world athletes.
Other projects include designing mobile Internet Banking sites for Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland.

When pressure is applied to a part of the body, the blood supply to the nerves in that area are cut off. This prevents the nerves sending important signals to the brain. Paraesthesia is also known as pins and needles (para (beside) ie. abnormal, Paraesthesia (sensation).
This is a photographic study and part of my Objectified Decay Series (2013). The delicate surface of the strawberry has been pierced and immobilised by the sharpness of the metal pins. The result feels painful, destructive and uncomfortable. This characterises many harsh and volatile environments from the inner city scrapes, to wider and problematic regions silenced by larger forces.

A growing area within my work, I've been asked to design various logos for clients over the last few years. This area of work includes sketches, research, mood boards, colour palettes etc. generally exploring the visual possibilities along with design rationale. Also touching on areas like company values, typefaces, typography, tone of voice, audience, imagery and stationary, I'll also consider digital graphics/GUI and data visualisation where needed. I work closely with clients to create identities that are clean, elegant and minimal in style.
Also dipping into online branding, by evolving existing brand guidelines (e.g. for some of the clients under NDA, and also QPIC and Cambridge Credentials). Shapers is a ladies only health center exclusively designed for women. A growing family run business, with 9 centres across the South East of England. I worked closely with my client here to create a logo that is feminine and has form and shape.

'Steam & Country' is a conceptual brand I devised a few years ago to explore the fusion between photographic artwork and brand development. The brand is defined as a premium leather goods company, using the image of the horse as the main focal point. The horse was photographed at the St Alban's Steam & Country Show 2009. I then later edited this using Photoshop so the horse appeared on a white background, with high contrast areas and dark shadows to add dramatic effect. The edited image then provided a clean and flexible image to work with.
The logo is a modern conception of a horseshoe and minimal in style. Black leather backgrounds form a relevant backdrop to the brand artwork and logo. I've used an old and romantic black and white typeface, appearing quite dominant throughout the brand.
High-level responsive designs for desktop and iPad were also produced as a taster of its online identity. Other samples shown here include an element of textile design - exploring ways in which the black and white photography can be extended onto fabric.
